Portraits of Karen Liebreich | Mat Smith Photography

In January 2026 we photographed the Chiswick author and historian Karen Liebreich MBE.

It's fun getting shots like this from the mobile portrait studio. We work with a fabric backdrop and studio lighting that can be brought into pretty much any space as long as it's big enough.

Karen's books include Fallen Order, The Letter in the Bottle and The Family Kitchen Garden. Closer to home, she co-founded the Chiswick charity Abundance London, and was appointed MBE in 2013 for services to horticulture and education. Her next book, The Lost Studio, is due from Hachette in February 2027.
